Ancient Springs: The Arts, The Imagination and Our World
A Conference at St. Hilda’s College, Oxford
13-15 September 2013
The conference featured the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, the late Professor Roger Scruton, and the composer, the late Sir John Tavener, who was commissioned by the Temenos Academy to write a new work, ‘Mahavakyas’, to mark the event. He dedicated it to the memory of Kathleen Raine.
The conference opened with a video address by the former Patron of the Academy, HRH The Prince of Wales.
This short video gives a flavour of the conference and includes a short interview with Sir John Tavener, the last that he gave on camera.
